generally silent at sea flying steadily
often approaching and circling boats
head down probing
over tropical oceans
methodically and slowly
deep gulping pounding dense reeds
hoarse trumpeting black legs and feet
adult breeding nesting in trees
often gathering actively dashing
becoming drab and pale
upon careful examination of details
common but innocuous
along edges of ponds
white rump and underparts
grassy marsh
developing scarlet
low flying solitary
high-pitched "eeee!"...
